📘 Meaning & Usage
~でしょう is the polite counterpart to だろう, expressing probability or seeking agreement: “probably,” “I think,” or “right?”
💡 Examples
- 明日は雨が降るでしょう。
Ashita wa ame ga furu deshō.
It will probably rain tomorrow. - 彼女は来ないでしょうか?
Kanojo wa konai deshō ka?
Do you think she won’t come? - これでいいでしょう。
Kore de ii deshō.
This should be fine.
